The 2026 ECF Championship is over and Rowan had a strong showing. We started out in the Teel Memorial race and The Robot was on fire on the tree and the stripe. Out of 500+ drivers Rowan took it down to 3, 9 rounds of racing, earning $2,000!!
He earned the bye for Round 8 and we decided to break the beams. But since we were doing a big check challenge on RT he hit it and went trip zip! Then in the semi finals he was .004 to his opponents .024, got dropped and didn’t have enough brake to respond.
Then before the fun race we bled his brakes and he proceeded to lock them up at the top end and gave it back by .011 in first round.
For the main event, round one he sucks it up at the stripe to .0021, which is 3”. I tell him that’s a little too tight and he says he could get tighter. Round 2 he is .008 to his opponents .004 and Rowan takes the stripe by .0009, which is just 1.25”! Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side of the breakout and lost what may be one of the tightest rounds at Bristol.
For his efforts Rowan earned the $250 Sharpshooter award for best reaction times and the $250 Maverick award for best finish line driving. And for the Teel race he won a $500 entry to the Christmas on the Coast race for best loosing package.
Rowan wasn’t able to bring home the diamond Wally but Team MIR did! Matt was the team captain of MIR’s first team as NHRA and we brought 50 kids! Our team 5 was on fire and brought home the team Wally, proving MIR has the best junior drivers in the country. All in all it was a very successful trip to Bristol Dragway and a special thanks to Computech, VP Racing Fuels, Ron Hubble and ATI Performance Products.

The Robot didn't race much of the PDRA Racing season but when he did he made a statement. Third round twice and then he took his VP Racing Fuels pro junior dragster to the final round where he gave it back by .001, a thousandth of a second!
Just to get into the 32 car field you had to be a 7.918 but the Computech RaceBase system made sure we got in on the second try. On the tree, the Robot was phenomenal. He was .040 first round, we made an adjustment and then he was .012, .007, .016, and .024 in the finals!
A big thank you to our friends the O'Meara's and Roberts for helping us balance both Rowan and Matt going late into the rounds. When both cars are in the lanes at the same time racing can get a little hectic. Two more races for Rowan, the GALOT Motorsports Park Halloween race and then the Virginia Motorsports Park make up race and then our 2025 season is over.

It’s the last PDRA Racing of the season and The Robot should be solidly in with a 7.915. There is still one qualifier left Saturday morning and with 56 cars anything can happen. So we’ll tighten up this VP Racing Fuels junior dragster and try to improve before first round later on Saturday. ... See MoreSee Less
